It is so great to see wonderful, exciting, and unique pieces turning up that are done for gardens. I was stuck looking at the fabulous contemporary outdoor planters and benches recently. They are the creation of a French Canadian sculptor Marie Khouri who is in collaboration with a Canadian landscape architect produced these wonderful curvy individual planters and seats.
Marie Khouri’s Exhibit
Marie Khouri ia a French sculptor, and the designer of the PL Series of planters. Created a centerpiece concept in concrete for a garden installation, the concept has evolved into a functional and decorative industrial product. The sculpting process, that always begins with a lump of clay in the palm of her hands, produces the free flowing curves that take shape as each plant is turned degree by degree to achieve a unique and distinctive design. The variety of different hand sculpted vessels was intended to better accommodate space s of different nature, from the smallest balconies to the greatest hotel lobbies.
