Hanging Baskets Gardening
Making a hanging basket garden is a great idea to indulge into gardening, if you don’t have much space. Here are some neat ideas on making your own hanging baskets!
Hanging Basket Gardening Basics
If you have decided to adorn some of your outdoor space into pretty flowery or foliage basket gardening, and scared to start – don’t be! It is not that hard actually! All you need is some patience, and some skills! One of the most important things to consider is the materials you will use. Whatever container that you use for hanging, make sure it has coir fiber, because it avoids water retention. Water overflow is also important, so to avoid it let one inch of space between the soil and the edge of the container.
The location can be really different because, there are actually many destinations for them. The usual choices are the patio, or entrance, by the front door, but make sure it is on the eye level. Think about water drainage as well, and try not to flood your containers! As on choosing what type of greenery to choose, try those that have a different rate of growing, but are compatible together. These are the popular choices:
- Hens and chicks
- Swan river daisy
- Asparagus fern
- Victorian lilac
