Making a Fire Pit
With the colder weather approaching, don’t you want to cuddle near a fireplace with your loved ones? Well, not everyone of us has a fire pit, but that is not really a problem once you learn how to make a fire pit out of handy materials.
Fire Pit Creation
Having your own fire pit is an amazing idea if you love outdoors, yet don’t like to be cold. For the fire pit creation project you will need cast concrete wall stones, cap stones, sand, shovel, tape measure, level tamper, steel rake. First of all, choose a location, that is in a safe distance from your house, and away from the low tree branches. When digging a hole for a fire pit be careful not to touch the utility cords.
Before starting you also need to take your measurements. Make a layout from stones of your future fire pit, circle or square, about 36 to 44 inches in diameter. Then carefully remove the base, by digging into the future fire pit, which should be about 12 inch deep. Then put sand into the hole and make it even. When you are sure that you have enough sand, start layering the stones of the fire pit. It should generally be a bit higher than the ground level, 12 inches high is enough. The last step is to pour a layer of sand into the ring of stones so that it covers the first layer, approximately 4 inches deep. And your first personal fire pit is ready!
