Retro Patio Design Ideas

Vintage furniture and designs have come back to outdoor living. If you want to have a retro-styled patio, you can find old furniture pieces to decorate your patio with or purchase new ones that are done in retro style.

Retro patio design tips and ideas

Retro table and chair sets come in several different designs. You can buy all-metal or steel stools with a matching table or some colorful ones such as blue, red, yellow or green. The tables are commonly small and in a round shape and the chairs have low backs and arm rests. By the way, you may also meet double seats that look like two chairs united together. You can easily mix up the retro furniture pieces, for example, use as a double seat in blue with two separate chairs where one is red and the other is green. Choose a matching table, you can place one or two based on how much free space is there.

A retro look can be achieved by adding strings of lights around a patio cover. They can be small strings of lights or larger, decorative strings of lights in shapes, such as flowers or bulbs. Moreover, retro tablecloths and table-runners can create even more vintage sense in your patio. You can also decorate the back of chairs or the chair seats with retro scarves.

Floor Mats

Put a large rug with retro pattern on the patio floor. A floor mat in a matching pattern can be put beside the entrance of the patio, or use a floor runner. Floor mats with fruit, floral patterns or a combination of circles with geometric shapes in the center can definitely create a vintage feel.

Retro images of things no longer available or logos can be hung on the house within the patio area. Depending on the common style of the patio, anything from grocery to actors and musicians to military and pin-up images can be used. A retro thermometer and a wall clock can be perfect decorations enhancing the retro theme.

Put on the patio table stainless steel salt and pepper shakers, a retro condiment server with striped straws in one of the openings, a retro napkin dispenser and squeeze bottles for mustard and ketchup. Also, use colorful plastic baskets to serve food in and bright glass pitchers for serving drinks. Dishes with polka dots can be used to create the atmosphere of the ’50s.

I’m not sure exactly why but this site is loading very slow for me.
Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end?
I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
