Pool Lighting Ideas

Share |

Pool lighting is an important feature for your backyard, especially if you have a night swim in mind, but it is often ignored. Pool lighting can increase the safety of those who swim and may add to the overall ambiance of your outdoor space. Whether for an in-ground or above ground pool, lighting will create an inviting and warm look for you.

Lighting ideas for every swimming pool

Incandescent Pool Lighting

Incandescent or halogen light bulbs may be placed in the pool, under the water, in an in-ground pool. This is a convenient way for swimmers to see under the water when in the pool at night. The only drawback to this option is a glare off of the water. The lights may be turned off if the pool is not in use. If the lights remain on, the light may reflect into the house if others are not swimming.

Fiber Optic

Fiber-optic light strips do not require electricity and may be placed around the border of the pool. This is a much safer option and eliminates the dangers of electricity around water. They are also decorative, enabling you to include multiple colors of lights. You may choose to line the steps leading up to the pool to increase safety, as well. Fiber-optic strip lights are virtually maintenance free and do not require changing of light bulbs.

Floating Lights

Floating lights are great for parties and are appropriate for above-ground or in-ground pools. Choose from colorful round or lantern style lights. They float on the surface of the pool. They are not popular if small children will be swimming because they should not be thrown in the pool. Floating lights can add to the ambiance and feel of your outdoor space.

Colored Lighting

An important thing is to create a certain ambiance with the lighting. To do this, there are numerous choices, such as colored lights. Today, consumers have numerous options in this regard, as there have been many innovations in the industry, such as with LED colored lights. This can be done by installing permanent colored light fixtures: underwater or above water.

Solar lanterns

Another great option that you can settle for is solar lanterns. They are made to hang from a hook or they can be placed on a table or stand. You can also carry them along to light pool paths during an evening walk through the pool area. Solar lanterns add pleasant charm and warmth to any nighttime outdoor function. They are incredibly capable of putting out as much light as regular permanent lights or even pole lights.

company you’re utilizing? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot
faster then most. Can you recommend a good web hosting provider at a fair price?
    Thanks, I appreciate it!
