One of the most offbeat attractions of the museum is considered to be a small pond with water lilies, known as the “Zipper Pond”. Special attention is paid to the decoration of the pond’s edges in a form of a giant zipper made of stone. Many visitors of the museum agreed that such a creative design of the pond would impress even the most boring spectator.

The architect of this wonderful creation explained the idea behind it:

I just wanted to show how vulnerable, fragile is wildlife, which faces the onslaught of civilization. Civilization can destroy in a second what nature has created for millions of years. One move can destroy ponds, forests, mountains, entire species. The task of the present generation is to protect what has remained, even if it is green islands in the concrete jungle of megacities.”

Ju Ming was born in 1938. He achieved fame in Taiwan in the 70′s, and later (in 1983) his genius was recognized in New York. He managed to develop a new technique, which he successfully used to create his sculptures.
