Handmade Potting Bench
Potting Bench is a very important feature of your outdoor area. They are used as work spaces for potting flowers or small seedlings for the garden, and of course for storage. One of the options to make this kind of bench, is to use upcycled wood that you were about to throw away, something like pallets, or ex-door.
One of the projects described how to make potting bench from two pallets that held boxes of tiles. However, let’s consider another option, of making a potting bench out of a former door. So, prepare your ex door by removing all of the hardware doorknobs, locks and hinges, repair any damage done to the surface, because it might hinder your work with plants in the future. If you want it, you will need to sand the surface of the door and paint it, this is easier to do, with the flat surfaces.

Next step is to mark the space which will be cut out. Usually a potting bench has something to mix the soil in, and for these purposes use a dishpan. Think of all of the details, such as storing tools. Later on you will need to cut out the space for them. Alternatively, you can just set these tools on the surface of the door, without cutting the additional space for them. If you have decided to cut the space, make sure that all of the items go well inside. Last step is to attach hooks along the edges of the door, if you need additional spaces for any gardening tools. The door can be laid on the saw horses, or it can be attached to the wall. So, your potting bench is ready!
